Four Georgian research teams have been selected for funding in the frame of BS-ERA.NET Pilot Joint Call

The pilot joint call was organized in the scope of the project “Networking on Science and Technology in the Black Sea Region” (BS-ERA.NET) funded under the EU 7-th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.
66 project proposals were submitted to the call. 11 projects have been selected for funding, among them 4 projects with participation of Georgian research teams. In total, 214 000 Euros have been allocated to the Georgian Projects, out of which approximately 179 00 Euros will be committed by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, while 35 000 Euros to be topped up by INTAS.
The following projects with participation of the Georgian research teams have been selected for funding:
1. Hydrogen Production from Black Sea Water by Sulfide-driven Fuel Cell;
2. Reliability and durability of Machines and Mechanisms used for Oil and Gas transportation in Black Sea Region;
3. Natural analogue investigation for CCS in the Southern Caucasus;
4. Investigation of Submarine Groundwater Discharge (SGD) for preventing pollution and eutrophication of the coastal Black Sea.
