Call for Project Proposals 2013 “Joint Research and Education Programme” Forschungszentrum Jülich & Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation

Forschungszentrum Jülich (JÜLICH) and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) have opened the Call for Project Proposals 2013 in the frame of “Joint Research and Education Programme”.

Purpose of the Call is to: (i) Enable Georgian students the access to JÜLICH world-leading scientific research centre to experience and conduct frontier research in fundamental and applied sciences and (ii) Assist JÜLICH in recruiting the best and the brightest students from Georgian universities and prepare Master and PhD theses for further progress of Georgian science.

Georgian Master and PhD students granted by JÜLICH and SRNSF under the Call (up to 3 in each category) will get the opportunity to carry out a research project at JÜLICH during their internship, and to establish long-term cooperation with researchers in JÜLICH as well as in German universities or non-university research institutions in the following agreed research fields 1)Mathematics; 2)Information Technologies; 3)Natural Sciences; 4)Engineering Sciences; 5)Life Science and Health
Duration of the internship for Master students depends on the corresponding curricula at the Home University. The internship for PhD students is granted for a period up to 3 years with a possible prolongation up to 6 months. The accumulated duration of research stays in JÜLICH must not be shorter than 8 months in each academic year and/or 4 months in each academic semester.

The grant installment (which includes daily allowance, Health, Accident and Personal Liability Insurance), totaling 900 € per month for Master students and 1400 € per month for PhD students. Travel grants, comprising annually: (i) one travel within EU for participation in a scientific event with high relevance to the topic of the Master/PhD study and (ii) up to two return travels from Georgia to Germany.

Project proposals in English and Georgian languages should be submitted to SRNSF through Electronic Submission System using the forms uploaded in the System. Deadline: 24.00 of 1 October 2013.
