Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announces the call in applied research

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announces a new call to support an advancement of applied research and technology. The aim of the State Science Grant’s call in applied research is to develop the high-tech innovative products being in demand in International and local markets.
On Today’s briefing Mr. Koka Seperteladze,the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and Mr. Sulkhan Sisauri, Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation have presented the goals and objectives of the call.
In the last years, applied research in Georgia was funded in the scope of State Science Grant Competition, although in line with international experience, Rustaveli Foundation has given to the call a new and independent status.
In accordance with the guidelines of the call the project’s duration should not exceed 2 years, while the budget requested from the Foundation should be up to 100 000 Georgial Laries.
According to the statement of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation’s Director General, applied research should result in the creation of new, modernized software, materials, therapeutic agent, device, construction, industrial prototype or the development and improvement of new technology.
Online registration of the projects will be available from 18 March 2011 to 27 April 2011.
In order to get acquainted with the guidelines of the new call, the staff members of the Foundation will provide consultations to the Universities and scientific-research institutions.
