SRNSF & STCU Targeted Research & Development Initiatives 2014 Competition Announcement:

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) jointly announce the 2014 call for proposals within the framework of the Targeted Research & Development Initiatives (TRDI) Program in the following priority areas:

  1. Biotechnologies and Life Sciences
  2. New Materials and Nanotechnologies
  3. Information and Communications Technologies

 

The aim of the call is to support advanced research in Georgia’s priority research domains above mentioned. Each project should have collaborators (at least 1 collaborator) from USA, Canada or EU and respectively Georgian researchers benefit from international cooperation with foreign colleagues.

 

Project duration is from 12 months to 24 months.

 

In order to participate in the competition, an applicant must register online on the website of Foundation at www.rustaveli.org.ge (click on the button Electronic Registration). Manual for the online registration is available on the Foundation’s website (in Georgian language).

 

Project proposals should be limited to total budgets not to exceed US$ 70,000. 50 % of the total budget (not exceeded USA $ 35 000) should be requested from the Foundation.

 

Online registration of the preliminary application (so called “short form”) in the Georgian language will be available from 13 March to 11 April 2014, 24:00 (p.m).

 

Deadline for submission of Statement of Participation to the Foundation (for online registered projects) is:  April 15, 2014, 13:00 (p.m).

 

Late submissions will not be accepted.

 

The Foundation will submit to the STCU a statement with names, contact details and the titles of preliminary applications of twenty-five (or less) shortlisted Georgian project managers by 25 April 2014.

These project managers will prepare a Full Form proposal (with unique project numbers embedded by STCU) in English and submit to the Foundation (submission deadline 21 July 2014).
