The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation will cooperate with the Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH (FZJ, Federal Republic of Germany)

The Memorandum on Scientific Cooperation between the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and Jülich Research Center GmbH was signed. The aim of the Memorandum is to develop and strengthen cooperation between universities, research institutions and researchers of both countries. The Memorandum was signed by Mr. Sulkhan Sisauri, Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and Prof. Dr. S. M. Schmidt, the Member of the Board of Directors of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

The document gives ability to Georgian young scientists to work on the basis of the Jülich Research center and to be involved in ongoing research activities there. Next year the young scientists will have opportunity to go to the different scientific research organizations of Jülich through the grant competition, which announces the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Within the framework of the Memorandum other joint research and educational programs are planned as well.


Mr. Sulkhan Sisauri, Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation said that one of the most important factors of the Foundation is to cooperate with the western leading scientific organizations to enhance and develop the scientific potential in Georgia. He said that the cooperation will help the Georgian researchers to raise their qualification and to adapt it to the international scientific community.
